About Mibilla Pty Ltd

Driving Prosperity, Creating Impact
Mibilla Pty Ltd was founded by Michael Hatton, a successful Aboriginal entrepreneur with a clear and unwavering vision: to enhance Aboriginal economic prosperity through the development and acquisition of thriving businesses.
Michael established Mibilla as a vehicle for change—one that channels commercial success into meaningful social outcomes. At the core of this vision is the belief that economic empowerment is essential to achieving true self-determination for Aboriginal people.
Mibilla is demonstrating the power of Aboriginal-led success. We believe Mibilla can become a shining light—showcasing what can be achieved by Aboriginal people in both business and in creating lasting, positive impact for those experiencing disadvantage in our communities.
The ultimate goal is to have successful businesses accumulating significant profits that will be transferred to Mibilla Foundation to be dispersed to programs and organisations that are effecting real positive change to Aboriginal people.
This is where we believe true self determination lies.
Michael Hatton – Founder, Entrepreneur, and Advocate for Aboriginal Economic Empowerment
Michael is a proud descendant of the Bunaba and Wiradjuri peoples. His early life was shaped by a rich tapestry of experiences across Tennant Creek, Darwin, and Townsville, before completing high school in Wagga Wagga. He maintains strong family ties to Derby, where his grandmother raised nine children and instilled values of resilience and community.
After high school, Michael moved with his family to Perth before making the pivotal decision to relocate to Sydney in pursuit of greater opportunities. This move proved transformative, leading to a thriving career in business. In 2004, after gaining experience in construction, Michael founded Total Surveying Solutions (TSS)—now one of New South Wales’ most prominent surveying firms, employing over 100 people.

Building on his business success, Michael expanded into property and other entrepreneurial ventures. With his three children now grown, his focus has shifted toward creating meaningful change for Aboriginal communities. His latest initiatives—Mibilla Pty Ltd and The Mibilla Foundation—are a reflection of his commitment to driving self-determination and economic independence for Aboriginal people.
Mibilla Pty Ltd aims to acquire profitable businesses and invest in scalable Aboriginal enterprises, with a portion of proceeds funneled into The Mibilla Foundation. The Foundation will, in turn, support Aboriginal-led programs that make a tangible impact in reducing disadvantage and uplifting communities.
Michael’s vision is clear: create a sustainable cycle of prosperity that empowers Aboriginal people to shape their own futures.
